Dr. Johnathan Parker

Dr. Jonathan A. Parker is a graduate of the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry. From 1983-2000, Dr. Parker provided care in a practice limited to management of TMJ problems, head, neck and facial pain. In 1992, he expanded the practice to include treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. Since 2001, he has focused his practice full-time on dental sleep medicine.

Dr. Parker is:

  • A part-time faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry
  • A Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine
  • On the board of directors of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine
  • A charter member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM)
  • The 2003 recipient of the AADSM's prestigious Distinguished Service Award
  • A Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain
  • On the staff or a consultant to most of the sleep disorders centers in the Minneapolis-
    St. Paul area

In addition, Dr. Parker is well known internationally and is regarded as one of the premier lecturers in the United States on the role of the dentist in evaluation and treatment of snoring and sleep apnea using oral appliance therapy. He has authored a number of research articles and abstracts evaluating the effectiveness of oral appliances used for treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.


Dr. Jeff Forslund

Dr. Jeff Forslund completed his undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1988. After graduating, he served 4 years in the Navy and joined Southern Heights Dental group in 1993. His enjoyment of all aspects of dentistry led him to a special interest in helping people with sleep apnea and TMJ problems. As a result, several years ago Dr. Forslund joined the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Dental Treatment Center in Edina and today provides oral appliance therapy solutions to patients who are unable or unwilling to use CPAP.

Dr. Forslund is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the International Association of Cosmetic Aestheticians and is board certified by the state of Minnesota.

Beyond dental sleep medicine, Dr. Forslund is married with two children and enjoys activities such as running, biking, swimming and boating with his family.


Julie Schedler

Julie S is the office manager for the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Dental Treatment Center. She assists patients with all billing, insurance and account questions. With over 15 years of experience in dental office administration, Julie is an outstanding resource to help you with any insurance issues that may arise.

She enjoys her time at home with her family and is an active volunteer in the community.

Kim Lahr

Kim is the front desk coordinator in our office. She has been working with Dr. Parker since 1997. She brings her experience from previous office administration positions at Prudential Insurance Company and the Twin Cities TMJ and Facial Pain Clinic to her work in this office. Kim will provide you with kind, helpful assistance whether you are scheduling an appointment or you have a question that needs to be answered.

She lives in the metro area with her husband and two sons.


Denise is a CDA* and RDA* and is pleased to coordinate appointment times and communications with referring physicians for our patients. She comes to us from 30+ years of assisting and management in a large dental clinic. Denise believes all our patients deserve a safe, welcoming environment when they come to us for care, and she does all she can to manifest that vision.

In her personal life, Denise enjoys time with her husband, 2 adult children and 4 grandchildren.

Julie Larson

Julie L, RDA is a clinical assistant who has enjoyed working in the field of Dentistry for many years. She graduated with honors from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead with a degree in Dental Assisting. She is experienced in general dentistry and helping patients with TMJ and orofacial pain symptoms. Julie is very knowledgeable, gentle and kind with patients and takes the time to ensure that each patient understands the steps she takes as part of her role in their treatment plan.

Julie lives in the suburbs and enjoys spending time with her husband and hosting family events with their three adult children and families.

Karen Iverson

Karen, CDA, RDA is a clinical assistant who joined Dr. Parker’s practice in March of 2007. In 1986, she graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Moorhead Technical Institute. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the dental field including in-hospital dentistry. Karen has also worked extensively with patients who have TMJ, facial pain and sleep apnea problems. In addition to her dental credentials, Karen graduated in 2006 with high honors in the field of Massage Therapy and she continues to work on expanding her knowledge in the area of body alignment and structure.

Karen lives in the northwest metro area with her three sons.


Jackie, LDA Jackie has been working in the field of Dentistry for many years. She graduated from Lakeland Dental Academy in 1975. In 1987, she completed her training as a Dental Lab Technician from 916 Vocational. Her experience has given her a chance to work with dentists in the areas of Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics and General Dentistry. In addition she has worked in a facial pain clinic. 

Jackie lives in the south suburbs with her husband and enjoys gardening, hiking and traveling. She is also involved in the lives of her two adult children who live nearby.


Paula, RDH A 1982 graduate of the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry Program in Dental Hygiene, Paula was the recipient of the Director's Award, recognized for excellence in clinical skills, academics and interpersonal communication. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, she specialized in orthodontics and worked in that field until September of 2014. Her career change to sleep disorders was inspired by testimony from individuals who had achieved improved quality of life, following treatment for snoring and sleep apnea. 

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, outdoor activities and continuing education.


Steph, LDA has been a dental assistant for 16 years, spending the last two years working in dental sleep medicine. She came to dentistry because she got to help people and then moved to dental sleep medicine because it made her patients feel better and sleep better. As a "people person," Steph is rewarded by getting to know her patients and she adds that it feels pretty awesome to help change the quality of their lives.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking her kids to their sporting events and visiting the family cabin in Wisconsin.


Teresa, LDA - Clinical Assistant graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at Normandale Community College and went into general dentistry. She joined our office in late 2016 and looks forward each day to helping patients with sleep apnea and snoring issues improve their quality of life.

Teresa enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and fishing Rainy Lake and the Canadian Rockies.
