Half-day seminar
Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can be the source of significant
social problems in addition to having a negative impact on a person’s
overall health. Half of the adults in our dental practices are snorers and
at least ten percent of those people have OSA. The dentist can play an important
role in identifying and treating patients with snoring and OSA. This upbeat
presentation will provide an excellent overview of these sleep disorders and
will focus on the use of oral appliances for managing these conditions.
Highlights of this presentation include:
• How snoring and OSA occur
• Evaluation and diagnostic testing
• Medical treatment options
• Working with oral appliances
• An update on oral appliances currently in use
